Lloyd T. Whitaker
President and Owner

Mr. Whitaker was a litigation partner in the Atlanta law firm now known as Alston & Bird. In 1970, Mr. Whitaker left the practice of law to join Cousins Properties Incorporated (then OTC; now NYSE) in a business capacity where he served as President of Downtown Development Corporation and as President of Cousin's Office Development Division. In 1975, he became President and Chief Executive Officer of Cousins Mortgage and Equity Investments (NYSE), a $300 million, financially troubled land acquisition and development Real Estate Investment Trust, and led it through a successful turnaround including its acquisition of and merger with, Pier 1 Imports, Inc. (NYSE) through the use of the former REIT's tax net operating loss carry forward. In 1984 Mr. Whitaker left CMEI to pursue personal business and investment objectives which culminated in the formation of Newleaf early in 1986.

Subsequent to the formation of Newleaf, Mr. Whitaker has served in a variety of fiduciary capacities including Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee in major corporate bankruptcies including the largest truckline bankruptcy in history, as a federal and state court receiver

David H. Crumpton, CPA,CFE

Mr. Crumpton has been affilated with Newleaf since its formation in 1986. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner and a licensed Real Estate Broker and has assumed a leading role in connection with Newleaf's financial consulting, forensic accounting, expert witness and real estate services engagements. Mr. Crumpton was previously employed for eighteen years with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he was a Principal in the Audit Division of the Atlanta office, the National Coordinator of Real Estate Accounting and Audit Practice, and a member of the firm wide Real Estate Industry Team. He also served as a member of the Real Estate Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Crumption left Arthur Andersen in 1987 to join Newleaf.
